Project Background

Looking to launch their new flagship event, AlitutdeX, Peak partnered with Sleek to bring to life a people-first technology event designed to engage progressive business leaders, commercial teams, engineers and data scientists who are wanting to reach new heights in business.

With a venue already contracted for the summit, Sleek worked with Peak to understand their vision and target audience to ensure that their inaugural, Manchester in-person event was a huge success. Event objectives were set to have 500 attendees, engage customers, partners and prospects in a new way and raise brand awareness for Peak.

The Sleek Approach

The planning of a summit includes many different moving parts and strong communication to ensure the event is a smooth success.

Sleek and Peak worked closely together throughout the duration of all the planning stages with weekly meetings that moved into daily meetings the days prior. The event agenda was planned to have 3 different event tracks for attendees to choose from, this included the main stage along with different peer to peer and workshop learning experiences. For Sleek, this meant managing the responsibility of:

● Venue management

Depot Mayfield is well known for being a blank space that you can turn into your own. Sleek took the AltitudeX event identity and designed, built and furnished the main event stage, a wellness space, dressing rooms, networking areas and a food and beverage hall mirroring the event theme, bringing it to life and creating consistency throughout the event To achieve this Sleek brought in an abundance of furniture, plants and astroturf to turn the space into Peak’s vision. In the lead up to the event, Sleek managed all venue communications to ensure that all suppliers were compliant with venue rules and requirements.

● Production and AV Management

A crucial part of the event is the production and AV. Understanding how to light up a venue, build staging and implement tech and AV throughout the event so the technology on the day is not a concern was an essential part of Sleek’s process. Managing the alignment between the film crew and production and AV teams to ensure both suppliers were working together to achieve Peak’s vision was an important part of how the event came together and was presented overall.

● Catering Sourcing and Management

Wanting to offer a variety of food and beverage options for attendees Sleek brought in 3 food trucks and 2 barista stalls with custom Peak designed coffee stencils. Green rooms were provided with a full spread of healthy treats for speakers to enjoy before they headed to the main stage.

● Event Registration

First impressions are important to the start of an event. Sleek’s registration process was implemented with scanners, badges, lanyards and lots of event staff to make it a seamless process for attendees on the day.

● Branding and Signage

An important part of the event is the signage to be displayed around the venue so attendees can easily find their way throughout the day. Sleek had these designed and printed for the event along with a coffee cart, coffee cups, badges and lanyards and a giant custom-designed X displayed in the heart of the networking space. Sleek also had custom-designed Demo Pods for event workstations, these were branded with Peaks logo and colours and spread throughout Depot Mayfield.

● Swag

Custom designed tote bags were given out to every attendee and included a branded thermal water bottle, mask and hand sanitiser. Sleek also had event uniforms designed for all Peak staff to be easily identified on the day.

● COVID Safety Planning

Having a COVID safety awareness plan was essential to the return of in-person to ensure that all guests who attended the event were kept safe. Branded, reusable face masks were given out in attendee tote bags along with branded hand sanitiser to give attendees the opportunity to keep themselves safe. Pre-event guidance was sent to all attendees to have a COVID test before coming along to the event and throughout the day all stage seating, workshop areas and communal areas were sanitised regularly.

● An Afterparty To Remember

Celebrating the success of Peak and their inaugural event with an afterparty of unique experiences was a must-have of AltitudeX. Sleek was tasked with sourcing music, catering and entertainment that would create a memorable experience and end the evening on a high.

The Results

Sleek transformed Depot Mayfield into Peak’s vision of AltitudeX and was a huge success with a lineup of world-renowned leaders sharing their experiences, learnings and insight on decision making to over 700 guests!

With approximately an additional 200 delegates turning up on the day that weren't expected, Sleek had to quickly adapt to ensure additional catering, and seating was available for the extra delegates. Using our trusted network of suppliers we were able to successfully accomplish this!

The atmosphere of being back in person was felt as soon as you entered the venue. From 9 am till 4 pm attendees enjoyed the choice of 23 different sessions to attend as well as hearing from over 20 speakers including Matthew Syed Author, journalist and former English no.1 table tennis player, Christopher Wylie, Best known for his role in setting up – and then taking down – the cyber warfare firm Cambridge Analytica and Leanne Fitzpatrick, Head of Data Science at the Financial Times.

Aiming to engage their customers, partners & prospects in a new way, the summit was broken into different tracks throughout the day giving attendees the choice to not only listen to influential speakers but also given the opportunity to participate in peer-to-peer learning and breakout workshops throughout the day.

With the opportunity to introduce unique experiences to attendees to make it a memorable event Sleek made sure the afterparty was a huge hit. Bringing in a DJ, graffiti wall and hula hooping entertainment, guests were treated to a huge celebration to finish the evening!

Overall, Sleek was able to successfully support Peak in achieving their event objectives. Over 700 customers, partners and prospects were able to attend and engage with the Peak brand and content in new and exciting ways. An important part of the event was for all functions of the business to be present and represented throughout the event which was achieved through different speakers, workshops and learning experiences.

With Sleek’s ongoing support and expertise, we were able to launch our flagship summit with a big bang! Sleek were able to produce elements to our event that previously felt unachievable and their ability to adapt to last minute changes was impeccable. Thank you Jennifer, Nicole and the rest of the Sleek team!
