Growing globally, staying close: Sleek strengthens its US presence
Growth means more when it follows the relationships you've already built.
For Sleek, our growing presence in the US isn't about putting a flag in a new market for the sake of expansion. It's a response to where our clients are going, what they're asking from us and how we can continue to support them as their own programmes grow.
That's why we're delighted to welcome Georgina Oppenheimer as US-based Director of Events, strengthening our local capability and giving clients more support on the ground while keeping them connected to the wider Sleek team.
Following our clients
Some of our strongest client relationships have grown far beyond the project they started with.
Our relationship with AWS, for example, began with a single event in 2015 and has developed into a long-standing partnership that now includes the delivery of Europe's largest cloud technology summit, attracting more than 22,000 people annually.
It's a good example of how we believe growth should happen. Not by chasing scale for its own sake, but by staying close to clients, understanding where they need us next and building the capability to support them.
Demand from existing clients has increasingly taken our work into the US with plans to establish more full-time US-based roles as the operation grows.
For us, the opportunity is to grow that presence without losing the relationships and accountability that got us there.
Global capability, founder-led care
Georgina brings more than a decade of experience across live experiences, festivals and brand events, with a background spanning architecture, design, production and experiential delivery. She will lead flagship US projects while supporting client growth, new business and the continued development of our US operation.
Having worked across both the UK and US markets, Georgina also brings an understanding of what it takes to connect global ambition with local knowledge.
“What attracted me was the combination of ambition and genuine care for how that ambition is delivered.
I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to Sleek's event portfolio, leveraging my strong relationships locally and working with the wider Sleek team to create experiences that inspire, educate and entertain, while delivering real value for clients and their audiences.” - Georgina Oppenheimer, US-based Director of Events
That balance matters to us.
Clients shouldn't have to choose between the capability of a global partner and the closeness of a team that genuinely knows their business. As we grow internationally, our aim is to provide both.

Independent on purpose
Our independence has always shaped how Sleek grows.
Jennifer Davidson founded the business in 2013 without outside investment, and Sleek remains founder-owned and led today. That gives us the freedom to respond quickly when clients need something from us, invest in the right people and make decisions based on what's right for the long-term health of the business.
“The US is an important part of our growth story, and what's exciting is that we've been able to respond to what our clients are asking for.
That's one of the things I value most about being independent. It's not simply about ownership. It's about agility, having the freedom to put our clients first, invest in our people and grow in a way that feels right for the business.
Georgina is a brilliant addition to that next chapter. She brings an unusual combination of creative experience, commercial thinking and production expertise, but just as importantly, she has a real energy and people-first approach. I'm excited to see what we build together.” - Jennifer Davidson, Founder & CEO, Sleek Events
Scale that stays close
Sleek has grown from a team of five in 2020 to more than 60 people today, alongside continued investment in leadership, infrastructure and international capability.
But becoming bigger has never been the goal on its own.
As our work takes us into more markets, we want to protect the things that make our partnerships work: knowing our clients, staying close to the detail, moving quickly when something changes and taking responsibility for the outcome.
Georgina's appointment is another step in that journey.
It gives us greater capability on the ground in the US while keeping the same connected approach across the wider business.
Because wherever in the world we're delivering, the ambition remains the same: global capability with founder-led care.
